Full Description:
Westridge Elementary opened in the fall of 1989. The school was built to alleviate overcrowding in the elementary schools that serve the western portions of the Lake Ridge communities. Our first principal, Mrs. Jeanette Brown, was instrumental in establishing a very community minded school environment here at Westridge. High expectations were set for faculty, staff, and students from the very beginning. Mrs. Brown established a number of innovative programs here at Westridge. These programs have flourished and grown in the years which have followed. Additional programs have been added since then. Mrs. Brown retired in the fall of 1991.
Since Mrs. Brown's retirement, two excellent principals, Mr. Doug Robbins, followed by Mrs. Joan Wilson, have served as principal of our school.
